Hi there! I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Groningen, working with prof. dr. M. (Malvina) Nissim. I received my PhD from University of Groningen, supervised by prof. dr. M. (Malvina) Nissim and dr. A. (Antonio) Toral Ruiz. Prior to that, I received my master degree from China Academy of Engineering Physics in 2019 and my bachelor degree from Central South University in 2015. I was born in Hainan (海南岛 ), a lovely tropical island in the southernmost province of China.

🔭 Research

My research is centred on advancing Language Models (LMs) across two synergistic dimensions: linguistic competence and logical reasoning. On the linguistic side, I investigate controlled text generation and multilingual adaptation, aiming to enhance how models navigate complex stylistic and cross-lingual contexts. Complementing this, my research delves into the logical and thinking mechanisms of LMs, focusing on optimising reasoning accuracy and efficiency. Together, my research aims to shape humane AI that integrates precise, context-aware language generation with rigorous and reliable reasoning.

Linguistic Competence

  • Controlled Generation: style transfer, figurative language
  • Multilinguality: machine translation, knowledge transfer

Logical Reasoning

  • LLM Reasoning: thinking, reasoning, efficiency
  • Multilinguality: consistency, adaptation
